What is blockchainID.me ?
BlockchainID.me is a Self-Sovereign blockchain identity validation solution that allow its users to remain in complete control over their personal data.
BlockchainID.me offers online identity validation tools that meets basic identity validation requirements as well as more stringent Know Your Client (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) rules and regulations, for services that requires that level of identity validation.
The identity validation, as well as the KYC/AML results when applicable, are minted in a blockchainID.me token secured by an encryption key owned and controlled by the user.
What is provided to a merchant by the user is a certificate that the user meet the KYC and AML requirements of the merchant. In many instances, the merchant will not even be provided the name or any of the details of the user identity as he will solely rely on the certificate of compliance itself to satisfy the requirements imposed on him by rules and regulations.
The combined blockchainID.me user token and encryption key are what allows the user to confirm his identity and his ownership of a wallet to CEX, DEX, merchants, service providers, or other users in the context of private smart-contracts.
The blockchainID.me identity validation solution comprises a suite of merchant-side blockchainID.me token readers. Through those readers, the merchant can obtain and confirm the identity or simply the compliance to KYC & AML regulations of the blockchainID.me token holder and his wallet, whether the wallet is custodial or non-custodial. Merchant can through that same process satisfy his KYC/AML compliance requirements.
The blockchainID.me solution allows a merchant to receive immediate certification that its new user meet its own requirements, and any requirements imposed by governmental rules and regulations. All this without the need for external or internal processing and verification of the new user information by the merchant.
Furthermore, using the blockchainID.me identity validation solution, compliance with KYC and AML rules and regulations can be achieved without the merchant requiring the user to undergo a stand-alone verification process or requesting copy of documents from the user thus reducing the users sensitive information the merchant must protect.
The blockchainID.me approach saves both the users and the merchant considerable time as the new user can instantly start using a merchant dApp or conclude a purchase without having to wait for an identity validation or a KYC/AML process to conclude.
We use the term merchant broadly. In these pages, the term merchant includes any service-providers and third-parties to which you would agree to provide proof of your identity or a KYC/AML compliance certificate.
